Simple Meaning:

Dark-hued Adolescent Krishna

Oh! Who is this young adolescent boy with a brilliant lustre ! His feet have destroyed the arrogance of lotus clusters and goddess Lakhsmi who resides in a lotus has taken the refuge of these lotus feet. His lotus hands are very skilled in playing the flute and are seats of all artistic crafts. His arms due to expressing gushes of sweet love are like vessels who fulfill all desires of the doe- eyed beautiful milkmaids of Braj. Oh! The beauty of His lovely handsome face can not be expressed in words and is thus beyond expression.

The Rasa-laden Commentary:

Innocent Youth Krishna

Who is this innocent youth in whom the simplicity of early childhood is being reflected? Ah! He is the infinite repository of beauty and sweetness. One is not the least satisfied by looking at Him and wants to go on gazing at Him. One's ardent longing for Krishna further increases on drinking His ineffable beauty.

The Lotus Feet of Krishna

Oh, His pair of lotus feet! Are so tender, beautiful and so very fragrant. All species of lotuses like land lotuses and water lotuses are competing with them. The lotuses wanted to vie with His feet for equality but were defeated. How could they possibly triump by competing with Krishna's feet, when by a particle of their dust the entire cluster of lotuses become fragrant.

Goddess Lakshmi

Truly! These lotus thickets have themselves invited defeat by trying to equate with these blue-hued lotus feeet. But Sakhi! This defeat is also a matter of great good fortune that is why these lotus clusters offered the whole of Shri or goddess Laksmi residing in their tender petals,in their gentle laughter, in their fragrance at Krishna's lotus feet. She too has harmoniously mixed with their loveliness and charm, is blessing itself and reaching the heights of rapture. Steeped in the fragrance of His lotus feet, She is roaming and walking about affectedly in the whole of Vrindavan.
That is why the whole of Shri Van is fragrant with this unique scent. Padma Devi1 has abandoned the Padmalaya or Her abode in the lotus and perpetually begun residing in these lotus feet. Now, this is where she forever dwells. Moreover, these pair of lotus feet also keep her constantly captivated by their passionate ardour and spirited antics.

Lotus Hands of Krishna

One can be content by raving about one limb of Krishna but every fibre and limb of this virgraha or  rasa 2or aesthetic rapture is the charming refuge site of some unprecedented, sweet ineffable beauty and charm. Just have a look at the pair of His lotus hands. Irrigating this flute made of bamboo and dry wood by the nectar of His fondness, transmitting nectar through His hands, Krishna has made it savorous by caressing it with His lotus hands. Now it has become the creator of various kinds of spirited frolics and amorous episodes. The Supreme Lover Krishna keeps showering His fond love on this bamboo flute. Holding it in His lotus hands and pouring the entire rasa of His lips on her, mischievous Krishna creates new romantic dalliances.

Shri Radha Rani & Her Sakhis

These two lotus hands are the zenith of beauty. You never know which charming dalliance residing in the sweetness, tenderness and loveliness of these pair of hands, further arranges a new exhilarating festival. And soon after, Shri Radhika Rani who reigns over the realm of love and her lovable sakhis are anointed with it. These frivolous pair of hands think of some new spirited antic everyday, and they are not the least stable. There is a certain capriciousness even in their stability and vice versa.

Fluty-Play by Lord Krishna

These lotus hands are the limit of unusualness. That is why the flute dances in their hold and they keep tickiling its holes. Being a prankster Krishna sometimes keeps His soft fingers and at time lifts them from the holes of this envied instrument. With these very lotus hands Krishna worships the god of love anDear Sungazer,

Lord Krishna Embraces Radharani

bahu daurhrida-bhajanam: The pair of lotus arms also ravage our hearts. With all their love of the inner core of their hearts, their minds and bodies, the Braj beauties have irrigated these blossming arms. These arms are the recipients of their love. The Braj milkmaids pour their loving affection on them, irrigate them with various enchanting sweet escapades and those lotus arms steep these Braj maidens in the gush of their sweetness, the water of their nectareous love, and repository of rasa. These pair of arms are the flowing current of these interpersonal romantic exchanges. When these strong arms embrace the loveliness of these ardent beloveds of Braj, they are thrilled with ecstasy and at that time the flood tide rises in the ocean of sweet love. At times those young maidens ardently longing for rasa, irrigate these arms with the rising love of their hearts and one has no inkling what happens then, when rippling waves of the sentiment of love gush forth from both sides. Breaking all boundaries of romantic dalliances, and all social constraints they sport in some mahotsav of rasa.
