Kakbhushundi Drops to the Ground

Seeing this child play and remembering that glory (which I had seen inside the Lord's belly) I lost consciousness of my body, and calling out: O Protector of those in distress! Save me, save me! I dropped to the ground. No word would come out of my mouth. When the Lord saw me delirious with love, He immediately checked the power (impact) of His

Måyå.

Lord Rama Blesses Kakbhusundi

The Lord, who is so very merciful towards the needy, placed His lotus hand on my head and relieved me of all sorrow. The compassionate Lord Råma, the delight of His servants, rid me of my deep delusion, forever. As I reflected on His former glory, my mind was steeped in joyous abandon. Seeing the Lord's loving tenderness, intense love invaded my heart. Filling my eyes with tears (of joy), I was thrilled and with folded hands, entreated Him in several ways.

Lord Rama,an Incarnation of Vishnu, is the Abode of Lakshmi

Hearing my loving words and seeing the plight of His servitor, Lord Råma, the abode of Lakshmi, spoke in words which were soft, pleasing and serious. O Kåkbhushundi! Knowing that I am highly pleased with you ask Me for a boon. It may be the ashta-siddhis (eight primary mystic powers)such as Anima or reducing one's body even to the size of an atom, fabulous wealth and moksha or salvation which is the mine of all joys.

Kakbhushundi Longs for the Bhakti of Lord Rama

Spiritual wisdom, discernment, asceticism, philosophical knowledge and many other virtues which cannot be easily acquired in this world even by the sages. Today I am going to grant you all these, undoubtedly. Ask for whatever your mind desires. On hearing the words of the Lord, I was overwhelmed with love. And began to think it is true that the Lord has promised to give me all joys but never spoke of granting bhakti or religious devotion to Him. Without devotion all sorts of virtues and blessings are just like so many cooked dishes without salt. Of what use is any joy without bhajan or worship.

Pakshiraja Garuda

O Pakshiraja! Contemplating in this fashion, I said: O Lord! Being pleased, if you grant me a boon and shower Your mercy and affection on me. Then, O Svami! I ask for my cherished boon. You are so generous and very well know the secrets of everyone's hearts.

Lord Rama is an Ocean of Compassion

O Kalpavriksha (tree that grants all the desires of devotees.) You work for the well-being of those who seek refuge in You! O Ocean of Compassion! O Lord Rama, Abode of joyous bliss! The glory of Your uninterrupted and pure (without desires) bhakti whose glories are sung by the Vedas and the Puranas, which is sought by the sages and great yogis and is attained by just a few by the Lord's grace. Have mercy on me and grant me the very same bhakti or religious devotion.
