A Female Deer Lovingly Gazes at Krishna
Meaning and Commentary by Shri Manohar Baba: "O Sakhi! When our beloved Sri Krishna, the glorious son of Nanda, dresses Himself in an exceptional fashion and plays upon His flute. Even the foolish does, on hearing the melodious notes, are passionately drawn towards Nandnandan along with their husbands (the black bucks known as the krsna-sara deer) and gaze at him with their loving large eyes.
Male & Female Blackbucks
Looking intently they offer their huge lotus like eyes at the feet of Sri Krishna and readily accept the warm welcome given by the dark-god's loving sidelong glances.Truly, the lives of these does is blessed.
The Cowherdesses of Vrindavan Adore Sri Krishna
Even on being the gopis of Vrindavana, we are not able to boldly offer ourselves to dark-hued Krishna because our husbands start fretting, back home. How frustrating is the situation? These gopas have a more disgusting mindset than the male deer because they don't approve of our moving in a delicious anguish to Krishna's side. (Sri Pad Sreedhar Swami and Sri Pad Sanatan Goswami)
