Shriji Blesses Lalji With the Gift of Life
Lalji had been suffering from gallstones for some time and the
ailment was aggravating day by day. So he was admitted to Alveshia Nursing Home and was successfully operated upon next day.
Shri Manohar Das ji (Author)
I (Manohar Bhaiya) had gone to Jagadhari at that time. On my way back I visited him and then came to Vrindavan. Shriji was informed about his state of health. On Lalji's behalf we requested Shriji to go and see him once in Delhi. However, Shriji kept postponing the needful for many days.
Lalji's condition was almost
fine after the operation and he was still in the nursing home. Shriji was to go to Barwani via Bhopal for the eight month long sankirtan which was going on.
Lalji Was Operated for Gallstones
Delhi
Due to a sudden change of plan he went to see Lalji in Delhi on 5th November, 1982, on his way to Barwani. Eight days had passed since he had been operated upon and Lalji was doing fine. However, his condition had worsened due to septicemia as poison had spread in the blood coursing through his body. Five senior reputed doctors were sitting next to him as the whole body had swollen.
“We don't want to keep you in the dark. There is no hope of his staying alive. Those who want to can meet him,” The doctors called his family members and intimated
them.
Shri Vrindavan
The whole family was alarmed. They came to Shriji in
Vrindavan by car at night and begged Ghanshyamji Thakur to wake up Shriji as Lalji's condition was very serious.
“Shriji has been given a sleeping pill and put to sleep, so waking him up would make him unwell,” replied Ghanshyamji.
“You will have to wake him at this point in time, for certain. Nobody apart from Shriji can save Lalji's life,” the much disturbed family members urged anxiously.
Strangely Shriji opened the door and came out of the room. Weeping everyone caught hold of his feet and pleaded, asking him to save Lalji's life.
“I don't think anything
untoward will happen. He will be all right. Go and get him treated,” Shriji assured them after sitting seriously for a while.
“ But the doctors have given up. Should we change the doctor if you say so?' asked
the family members.
“No! Don't change the doctor and get him treated the
same physician. I will come personally to see Lalji in the morning.” Shriji replied in a grave tone
All of them rushed back and reached the hospital. Laji’s wife Neena had implicit faith in Shriji so his words gave her immense spiritual strength.
Shri Balkrishna Das ji Maharaj
“ You continue the treatment. Lalji's body can’t leave him as Shri Maharajji has said so,” she went to the doctor and said confidently.
“The patient's
critical condition is obvious whereas this woman is steadfastly saying that nothing untoward will happen to him,” the physician gazed at Neena's face and began thinking to himself.
The doctor was reminded of an injection and he instantly injected Lalji with it. A ray of hope could be seen. A second injection was given after some hours.
The doctor had only two injections on him therefore he told Lalji's family members, “These injections are not available in Delhi but can be bought in or England. “
Everyone was worried. They came home and narrated the episode to Shriji.
“Ring up Mumbai just now,”
Shriji insisted on hearing them out.
A call was immediately booked and got connected in no time.
“All markets are closed except for one which remains open during the night. I will go there right now and make inquiries,” said the man at the other
end of the line.
He went to the market immediately but could not get the needed injections.
Four Ampoules
On a shopkeeper's suggestion he went to the Military Hospital and could get four ampoules by the grace of Shriji. As soon as he went to the airport, the man got a ticket of the first flight. The man immediately rang up Delhi and informed them that he had got four injection vials and was coming by the first flight.
“There will be a small
placard in my hand with 'injection' written on it, with which you can identify me,” he said.
That man reached Delhi at 8:30 in the morning. Strangely after his flight took off there was a terrible windstorm in Bombay allowing no other plane to take off for the rest of the day.
Shriji went to Delhi to see Lalji in the morning. He saw the board of 'No Admission' written at the entrance of the ward where Lalji had been kept.
No Admission Sign
“No admission is written here so how can I possibly enter?” he remarked humorously.
Eight doctors were sitting beside Lalji and they stood up on seeing Shriji.
“You have to take care of him now. Sit down please and we will go out,” the head doctor told Shriji,
Shriji saw Lalji. Four drips had been inserted on Lalji's hands and feet.
Shriji became emotionally charged and his face reddened.
” Take out the drips,” he ordered the doctor in an authoritative tone,”
The doctor mechanically did what Shriji demanded, including the removal of oxygen. Soon after, Shriji touched Lalji's head with his hand. Becoming slightly conscious Lalji raised both his hands to do pranam and respectfully greet Shriji.
Bhopal
“ Lalji should reach home on 14th November that is the fourth day from now on. Besides, you must inform me of it by phone in Bhopal,” Shriji instructed the doctor.
Diwali was on 15th November that year.
The doctor was greatly astonished to see this miracle of Shriji's mercy.
“There is a serious patient in another ward. Kindly oblige him with your darshan,” he requested after doing pranam.
Shriji went to that ward as well.
Shriji's arrival in Delhi on the day when Lalji's health had taken an adverse turn was a matter of great astonishment for everybody. Everyone raved that Shriji knew everything beforehand due to his all-knowing vision therefore he had reached on time and given the gift of life to Lalji. This episode had a great impact on Lalji's family and their reverential belief in Shriji increased all the more.
Shriji left Delhi for Bhopal.
Here, Shri Hiralal's daughter Kiran was seriously ill and in hospital, causing anxiety to the entire family. On reaching Shriji assured everyone that things would be fine and Kiran too got a new lease of life because of Shriji's grace.
Diwali
Lalji came home just a day before Diwali. When the doctor wanted him to stay on for one more day in hospital, Lalji refused, “No! What Shirji has said must be done.”
Lalji recovered fully in a few days’ time and became absolutely healthy.
“ Lalji has been sent home a day before Diwali as per your orders,” said
the Delhi doctor on making a phone call to Shriji in Bhopal.
All those who were present
in Bhopal were pleased by this news.
Barwani
Shriji started for Barwani from Bhopal.
People in this city were waiting for Shriji like the pied cuckoo[1].The
whole of Barwani danced in joyous abandon on his arrival.
Zeal of the public surged forth in the kirtan. All men and women began singing various ragas and
raginis in sky-scraping tunes. Day and night, Shriji and Ghanshyamji Thakur
would lead the kirtan for two hours each, respectively. As soon as Shriji
reached the kirtan thousands of devotees would gather which led to shortage of
space, inside and outside the manda or canopy. People would incessantly
throng Motibhai's place for Shriji's darshan when he was not doing. Shriji
stayed in Barwani for a span of fifteen days, because of which the immense
delight of the people knew no bounds.
An astonishing incident
took place during that period which is as follows:
Trimbakeshwar Mandir, Nasik
Shri Satish Kumar was a
headmaster at Barwani. Taking students of his school he went to Nasik on a tour
for the darshan of Trimbakeshwar Jyotirlinga[2]. Shri
Ram Manohar Dwivedi was also accompanying him.
Shri Maharajji
Unexpectedly they saw revered
Shri Maharajji standing in front of the mandir. Both of them quickly went up to him and
touched his feet.
Smiling with affectionate
intimacy Shriji looked at them.
“Haven't you people come from Barwani? Don't
worry! You will comfortably reach your place of stay.”
“Is there any cause of
worry?” asked Satishji.
“There is definitely
nothing of that sort now,” assured Shriji.
“Gurudev! Have you also
come here for darshan.” He asked again
Shriji did not reply to
this question of his and smiling gently left the place all of a sudden. No one
could spot him after that episode.
Barwani
When Satishji came back to
Barwani and got to know that Shriji had not left Barwani and gone anywhere for
the past one week, his astonishment knew no bounds.
What appeared to be a
common happening at Nasik to Satishji who was of a scientific temperament,
became a mysterious puzzle on his coming to Barwani. It is crystal clear that
Shriji had manifested in a certain form of his to ward off an impending danger.
Satishji had got a hint
from Shriji to keep this incident a secret. The occurrence came to be known
after a long time when his experience was published in 'Rasarchan.'
