Baba Shri Manohar Das ji, the Pride of the Spiritual World-VII

Brahma, the Creator
After going for bhiksha Baba was enchanted by Vrindavan forever. And at the same time, he abandoned the thought of going elsewhere. He sensitively observed that saints are even greater than Brahma,(the Supreme Being in his capacity as creator of the world).

Manohar Baba now offered his entire being at the holy feet of Shri Maharaj ji and began the regime of having satsang with Shri Balkrishan Das ji Maharaj, after this episode. Maharaj ji explained the specific method of doing bhajan (singing hymns of a devotional nature for a deity) to Baba and  simultaneously strengthened bhakti and asceticism in him.

Nandgaon

Shri Maharaj ji made Baba take a tour of Nandgaon and other sites of the Braj Mandal (the area containing the major Krishna shrines and sites around Vrindavan,U.P.) on foot and explained their majestic glory in detail. He kept showering Baba with constant affection, and sowed the seeds of love for Priya-Priyatam

Shri Radha Longing for Krishna

(There is no greater symbol to denote the longing of the soul in its quest for the divine than the longing of Radha for Krishna, Her Lover). In fact, Manohar Baba learnt to relish the rasa of Shri Radha-Krishna's madhurya or sweet romance from Maharaj ji.

Meanwhile the health of Manohar Baba was on the decline. For this very reason, revered Maharaj ji called Sakhya Hari, Baba's elder brother from Maheshwar, to Vrindavan and sent Baba back home with him. But Baba did not like  this arrangement at all.

“I can not come due to ill health so why don't you oblige me, by giving darshan.” He wrote in a letter to Maharaj ji and appealed,

The instant he got this letter Maharaj ji, got up and left for Maheshwar just as he was.. En route, the ticket checker made him get down from the train since he was travelling without a ticket. He walked constantly without a break and steadily advanced ahead on the path.

A Tree

Fatigued due to walking non-stop for a great distance, he lay down beneath a tree.

Lord Krishna who is in the power of His devotees, dwells in the heart of bhaktas and is a repository of affection, transported Maharaj ji to Maheshwar. On waking up, He found Himself sleeping on the ghats of river Narmada.Soon after, Shri Maharaj ji went to Baba's house. That is when Sakhya Hari ji, the elder brother of Baba, attended to the needs of Maharaj ji with due respect. He had blisters and bruises erupting all over his feet due to walking endlessly at a stretch. Sakhya Hari ji massaged his feet with ghee etcetera and looked after him conscientiously.

Vrindavan, where Lord Krishna Forever Dwells

At the other end Baba came back to Vrindavan due to an ardent longing. On arriving at the dham, when he got the news that revered Maharaj ji had left for Maheshwar, he forayed back to Maheshwar once again.

Hari Sankirtan

Maharaj ji, Sankirtan of the Mahamantra

On Baba's arrival, revered Maharaj ji had a sankirtan of the mahamantra done and did satsang.

In the year 1945 revered Maharaj ji left his place of residence situated in Govind Bag and began staying in an extremely ancient temple located in the Ranapati Ghat on banks of the river Yamuna in Vrindavan.

Goddess Ganga

An extremely attractive idol of the river Ganges sculpted in white marble and measuring five feet in length, was enshrined there.

Manohar Baba also began staying with Maharaj ji permanently in this set up. Revered Devi ji had taken the shelter of Balkrishan Das ji Maharaj ji and begun living here from the year 1946 onwards. In strict accordance to the orders of revered Maharaj ji, Baba and Devi ji would chant the mahamantra three lakh times every single day of the month. While staying in this very temple, revered Shri Maharaj ji would write compositions for satsang for a span of several hours, without fail.
