The Sage Gave The Ram Mantra to Kakbhushundi
(Kakbhushundi said) Listen, O Pakshiraja! The sage was not at fault in this, in any way. It is Lord Råma, the Ornament of the Raghus, who stimulates everyone's heart. The All-merciful tested my devotion by obscuring the sage's intellect. When He came to know that I was His servitor in thought, word and deed, the Lord transformed the saint's intelligence again. The sage saw my nature which was that of a great man(perseverance, calm and humility) having implicit faith in Lord Rama's feet. Then filled with sorrow and repenting over and over again, he politely called me back. He consoled me in many ways and then gladly gave me the Ram Manta (incantation).
Kakbhsundi is Taught How to Meditate on Child Rama
The merciful sage also taught me (the method) how to meditate on Lord Rama, the Child. This charming and delightful deep contemplation which I was thus taught to fix my thoughts on, pleased me a great deal. I have already told you the same. The sage kept me in his hermitage (with him) for sometime and then recited the Råmacaritamånasa (the Månasa or lake of Lord Rama's exploits). Having reverently narrated the story to me, the sage then spoke to me these lovely words: O dear, son! I discovered this secret and charming lake of Lord Råma's exploits by the grace of Lord Shambhu. I have come to know that you are Lord Rama's own devotee, that is why I recited his character it to you in detail. O dear, child! Never repeat it in front of those whose heart is devoid of religious devotion to Lord Råma. The sage explained this to me in various ways and then I lovingly bowed my head at his feet. The great sage touched my head with his lotus hands and gladly gave me his blessings: Now onwards by my grace, intense religious devotion to Lord Råma shall forever reside in your heart.

No Delusion & Illusion Shall Affect Kakbhushundi
You shall always be a favourite of Lord Råma; a trove of good qualities, sans pride, capable of changing your form at will and choosing your own time for death (only when you wish to leave your body you will die) and a repository of wisdom and asceticism. Not merely this, in whichever hermitage you live with your thoughts fixed on the Lord, ignorance (delusion and illusion) will have no effect within a radius of eight miles. (113 A-B)

Garuda, the Mount of Lord Vishnu
No suffering caused by time, karma or action, qualities, faults, or disposition shall ever torment you. You will come to know of several kinds of charming mysteries (secret essential truths and traits) of Lord Rama, that are mentioned in the chronicles of history and the Puranas, either explicitly or implicitly, without any difficulty. May you develop new love for Lord Rama's feet every day. Whatever desire you may have in your mind, by the grace of Lord Hari, you shall have no difficulty in attaining it. O Garuda of steadfast intellect! On hearing the sage's benediction, a deep voice which was obviously the voice of the Supreme Spirit, was heard from the heavens: O enlightened sage! May your prophesy come true, as such. He is My bhakta in thought, word and deed. Hearing the heavenly voice, I was very delighted; overwhelmed with love, all my doubts were dispelled. On getting the sage's permission in response to my entreaty, I repeatedly bowed my head at his feet and gladly came away to this hermitage. I got a rare boon by the grace of the Lord.
The Divine Sports of Child Rama in Ayodhya
O Pakshiraja! I have been living in this hermitage for the past twenty seven kalpas ( rounds of creation.) I am forever singing the glories of Lord Raghuvir, and the clever birds reverently listen to them. Every time the Lord of the Raghus acquires the form of a man in the city of Ayodhya for the sake of His devotees, I go and stay in the capital of Lord Rama and enjoy the sight of His childish lila or divine play. Thereafter, O Pakshiraja! Enshrining the image of child Rama in my heart , I return to my hermitage. I have now told you the entire story of the reasons why I got the form of a crow. O Dear! I have also replied to all your queries. The glory of religious devotion to Lord Rama is superb, for sure.

The Intense Religious Devotion of Kakbhushundi for Lord Rama
I love this crow body of mine only because it was in this body that bhakti to Lord Råma's feet flooded my heart. I was blessed with the sight of my Lord in this body and all my doubts gradually vanished. (114 A)

Sages Can't Get the Boon which Kakbhushundi Got
I adamantly held onto the cause of Devotion, for which the great sage Lomasa had cursed me; but eventually I got a boon which is difficult even for sages to obtain. Just look at the effectiveness of worship.
