Simple Meaning:

Krishna, the Cowherd

This young boy (Krishna) with His dancing eyes, His divine face beautifying all directions, dressed in a charming outfit perfectly suitable for a cowherd is extracting the milk of joy for my eyes.

The Rasa-laden Commentary:

Krishna, Lights Up the Four Directions

Shri Billavmangalji Maharaj sees the darling son of Nanda, the repository of beauty adorned with blooming youth, walking towards him. Reaching the heights of elation and ecstasy he exults," This young boy, the colour of the condensed sky,' who has fickle dancing eyes, is advancing towards me. His moonlike face is beautifying all the four directions with its cool beams. He is dressed like a cowherd boy; the peacock plume adorns His beautiful locks of hair and His mukut or crown is made of forest flowers. The sakhas accompanying him have painted their faces with different coloured minerals. It seems that the directions have also been beautified with the beams of His moonface.

Different Lustres of Krishna

All the ten directions have been splendidly lighted with the red lustre of Lord Krishna's bottom lip, the threefold lustre of His eyes, the brilliant lustre of His gentle smile, the blackish lustre of His dense locks of hair, the yellow lustre of His pair of golden earrings, the amazing lustres of gunja berries and the dark-hue of Krishna's body.

Braj Gopis Are Drawn by Krishna

Krishna, the respository of ineffable beauty and the treasure trove of charm imparts joy to my eyes. Steeped in the sakhi bhava Shri Billavmangalji is wondering as to why Krishna's eyes are becoming fickle? On hearing the tinkling anklets of countless Braj gopis advancing towards Him, His eyes become capricious. This tremulous glance is planning some new lila or playfull dalliance.

The Ineffable Beauty of Krishna

The beauty of His lotus face is unprecedented, He is dressed perfectly like a cowherd. A crown of forest flowers rests on His head, a flute is held in His lotus hands, a loincloth is draped around His waist, He wears yellow garments, a garland of gunja berries and the vanamala are His special ornaments. Very much like a joyous festival Lord Krishna is enchanting my eys and walking in my direction.
